My Secret Admirers Struck Again!!!!!

Maaaaaaaaaaaan, I gotta tell ya, this is so cool, but I am going crazy trying to figure it out!!!

Today I got a very cute card in the mail with a Timmy's Gift Card inside!!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't have timed that better, I know where we are stopping on our way to the lake tonight! Secret Admirers, ya ROCK!!!!!

My "Secret Admirers" :)

Well, it seems I have some secret admirers :) Gotta tell ya, whoever they are THEY ROCK!!! It is driving me crazy trying to figure it out, but I am feeling very spoiled and very special :)

First, on the 12th, I received an awesome fruit basket from Blossoms Florists. It had some awesome stuff in it :) It was signed "Have a wonderful day Love your secret admirer" The basket was so full of all sorts of things and the chocolate .... oh the chocolate was soooooooo good :) Of course the fruit and everything else was too lol.




Then on Saturday, the 13th, Keegan found a package in one of our outside chairs. It was wrapped in Christmas paper and the note was "We wish you a merry weekend, We wish you a merry weekend, We wish you a merry weekend and a whole lot of fun. From your secret admirers" Inside the package was an awesome scrapbook kit from Colorbok, which is great stuff :) I have plans for some of it already :) Keegan is so into the mystery it is too funny. I was quite a proud scrappin Mommy when, as I was taking pictures, he said "Mom you need to scrapbook this" lol.



Tonight June 16, Keegan and I were at his school, then on errands and Brian went to the library to clean up a very high fine (but that's a whole 'nother blog lol). Brian went into the backyard and almost sat on this wonderful gift bag full of awesome surprises! The note says "The word on the wire is ..... You're going away this weekend! Enjoy this fun pack! Love your PEEPS (secret admirers!!!!!!!!!) Inside this bag was another scrapbook kit which is fantastic! Three magazines ... Canadian Scrapbooker, which is one of my faves, Scrapbooks Etc, another fave and Crafts and Things which is a crafting fave for all kinds of stuff!! There was also this really cool kit I have never seen before .... it is called Freeze Squeeze ... 8 tubes of different flavored liquid, you add alcohol, shake, freeze and enjoy :) Some yummy yummy flavors in there too!!! Then there was also Bits and Bites, beef jerky, gum, spitz and Nibs :) Keegan is all excited about some of that stuff!!! lol.



Anyway, I am feeling so thankful and so very special and I can't wait to find out who has been pampering me :) Thanks Secret Admirers!!!!!!!

The Bikini Boys Did It Again!!!

The Heel and Wheel A Thon for Crohns and Colitis Research was alot of fun again this year! It is always a great visit with my friends Lori Ann and Murray and their awesome kids Clay, Rayner and Shylo :). We could have done without the rain downpour, but at least the walk part was over for them before that.

Now the coolest part ... last year if Clay and Rayner raised a certain amount of money, they would wear awesome pink and brown bikinis in the walk. Well, they more than surpassed their goal raising around $7,000.00!! Needless to say they wore the bikinis their Mom picked out for them!

This year, these 2 amazing boys and their parents cooked up the scheme to wear dresses if they reached a certain amount of money raised. AND their Dad would join them if they raised even more ..... well, they raised $12,481.00!!!!! Needless to say, their Dad joined them this year .... they all wore dresses for the walk! (I am posting their pictures with Mom's permission) :)

Don't they look awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of them! They won first place for amount of pledges in the group catagory :) Way To Go Guys!!!

I have to share a couple pictures of their youngest, who decided that playing with my son Keegan was fun :)

Then there were these people there with the coolest birds. I only took pictures of 2 of them, but I had to share those too :)



In all, there was about $60,000.00 raised for this very worthwhile cause! Was a fantastic afternoon, even with the rain!

Holy Crow I am a Bad Bad Blogger

Wow, where does the time go????? I have been a very bad blogger!! I am going to do much better from now on lol. I'm not even going to try to catch up with what has been going on over the past way too long, but lets just start fresh :)

Plans are well underway, and donations being begged for, for our 5th annual Scrap N Camp taking place October 23-25, at the Rosthern Youth Farm Bible Camp. It is going to be a great camp again this year. We are raising money for the Children's Health and Hospital Foundation and collecting toys for the Denny Carr Secret Santa!! I'm looking forward to it very much, now to just get everything done we need to :).

Well, off to the Crohns and Colitis Walk. Friends of mine take part every year and their boys have been hard at work fundraising. A little birdie has already told me their final amount, but I will save that for later, along with pictures. A little teaser though, they are amazing kids!!!

There's Been an ELVIS Sighting in Rosthern Saskatchewan!!!

Our Scrap N Camp 2007 was a "Vegas" style success!!!
Everyone had a blast!!, and we are able to make a great donation to the Denny Carr Secret Santa Foundation again this year!! Our guests came through again and donated over 100 new toys for the cause too! Laura Giesbrecht came out and did pedicures and manicures and donated a portion of her proceeds back and Mark Depeel (my Dad) donated a beautiful framed photograph, which we raffled off. Mark Wurtz and the Rosthern Youth Farm Bible Camp came through once again for us, and gave us a fantastic setting for our camp!! As well, many Saskatoon and area businesses donated prizes etc to us so we could make the weekend special for everyone who attended. A HUGE Thank You goes out to our very own "Elvis", he knows who he is, and we love him :) lol

No one can tell the story of the weekend quite as well as Karen "Olga" Pidskalny, who has attended our camps and been one of our best cheering sections right from the start!! Thanks Karen!! Rovering Reporter Olga, here bringing you the latest and the greatest from this weekend's Scrap n' Camp, 2007.

The theme this year was Viva Las Vegas! True to Vegas fashion, some gambling was done, plenty of entertainment, amazing food buffets and little sleep was had by many.

The weekend began with party arrivals, hugs for some and room assignments. Tables were chosen and then bags, totes and crates of scrappin supplies were hauled in.

The scrappin began........

The Vegas style challenges start with design a Vegas style name tag. There was bling, die, feathers and then there was the stripper tag. This one came complete with cards, money for slot machines, fish net stockings and a condom served on a disposable plate. A well known entertainer named it the full meal deal.

Friday night ran into Saturday morning and that was when the night life began. The Snorers Chorus was in full tune and played for the rest of the night until the sun cracked the horizon. It was only then their silence was experienced by snapping some photos of the sunrise.

Saturday was filled with scrappin, laughin and plenty of visiting. After the evening meal, the PJ party began.....

Loud music blarred over the room to make you stop what you were doing. You look around the room and to the sky and there he was, the


KING of ROCK n ROLL, Elvis!!!!

Can you spell scream, excitment, thrilling,

He sang Viva Las Vegas and Love Me Tender. I know that most of you will think that the kiss he blew was for one of the DT members but I know that wink was for me.

He then wiped his brow and threw the towel to us adoring, screaming ladies. I ran and grabbed it. Ahhhh! Elvis' sweat is on that towel.

Elvis was kind enough to stop and pose for some photos with us too.

Who could sleep after all that excitment? Not us talkers.

The snorers chorus was doing a repeat performance so some of us decided to take in another performance and enjoy the company of the Baby Bon Bons. Her performance lulled many of us to sleep.

There was an agent in the room and was trying to squeeze some information out of me while I was sleeping. They got me talking but lucky for me, my scrambler was on so all my information was incoherent to her.

So, in a nutshell, that was Scrap n' Camp 2007. There was about 209 pages scrapped this weekend. Plenty of prizes for every one.

Really, it was awesome! To those who did the organizing of the weekend, Thank you! Most of us had a fabulous time and are ready to sign up again for next year. You deserve huge hugs for a fantastic job, well done again!!

Looking forward to next year. Some of us gamblers were already trying to figure out what could be next year's theme. I guess we will have to wait.

The Saskatoon Youth Music Theatre ... Amazing Show!!

Keegan took part in a summer camp from July 9-20. The Saskatoon Youth Music Theatre. What an amazing group of staff they had working with these kids!!! I can't say enough good things about them and the work they did!! The kids started from scratch and in 2 weeks put together a first class show which went on stage Friday July 20 at the Persephone Theatre!! In fact, this will more than likely be the last performance at the old theatre as the Persephone prepares to move to their new home! There were about 53 kids involved in the production and it was absolutely fantastic!!! Many of the songs and skits sent shivers down my spine, and as any proud parent I shed a couple tears as the standing ovation started at the end. I looked up on stage at my son and they just started to flow, ok, so I'm an emotional type. Keegan has already started to talk about going again next year, and I can't wait either!! Everyday he came home excited to go back the next day!

Walking the Trails at Beaver Creek

This summer is going by way too fast, but it has been a good one so far!!
This past week, we managed to get out to Beaver Creek twice :) If you have never visited Beaver Creek, you are really missing out!! The staff in the conservation building are fantastic, and the trails are well taken care of and absolutely beautiful!!
On Sunday we walked the 1 km Yellow trail. It was great as it curved around with the creek far below. We did see a deer, although didn't manage to get a picture of it. The sound of the birds and other wildlide is so relaxing as you walk along the trail. Back at the building, Keegan even got to do some fish painting. There were a couple of other kids and they all seemed to enjoy themselves.






Wednesday night, my Dad went out to Beaver Creek with us. When we got back to the building after taking the yellow trail again, the staff told us there was some beaver activity on one of the other trails. One of the staff was on the trail and had contacted the staff at the building. We went out this trail where she was waiting for us and she took us to where we would get the best view. It was so amazing!! We were watching the beaver and it had disappeared from view, so as we were watching down the hill for it to appear again, Brian realized something was in the brush right beside him. Suddenly the beaver appeared not 10 feet from where we were standing and walked right past and up into the brush to get a young aspen branch. Then it lumbered back down the hill and into the water. I managed to get a picture of it's tail as it went back down (I really need a fancy digital hint hint hint). We stood and watched it in the water eating, then as two more beaver came around. It was really an awesome show they put on for us!!! We also saw a deer and a hawk, who was busy being chased by the smaller birds whose nest he'd gotten too close to. Keegan LOVED every minute of it, and so did the rest of us :) I really was thankful the staff had done this for us!! They go above and beyond and it is well appreciated!!! We love going out to Beaver Creek and you will be finding many more posts about that wonderful place!!!
